Accurate Form straps are soft and thin, so they are very easy to use and go well with antique watches. However, I was worried that when I put it on a thick watch such as a Submariner, it would look a little unbalanced... In that case, using the open-end type was perfect! The open-end type has a double layer of leather on the side where the watch is attached, making it thicker than the regular type! The double layer helps to bridge the gap between the thickness of the watch and the thinness of the leather strap. Please give it a try.
Thank you for your comment. I think the idea of using an open end to intentionally create volume is great. As you say, open end straps can be used not only with fixed watches, but also with regular spring bar type watches. I hope you enjoy it.

Got so many great looking straps from Accurate Form and never disappointed me. I am serious vintage military issued watches collector and mostly use nato straps but these open ended straps are also perfect choice and really easy to put on.
So many kinds of leather and color available but I chose something simple subtle colors on my MoD issued timepieces and made them look even classier. So far I have light brown cowhide, Chromexel in black and natural color, hope to get more in future.
