■ What is Himeji Kurozan Leather?
This leather is made from Japanese black beef and combines the traditional Japanese techniques of tanning and lacquering. Nicknamed the "black diamond of leather," Kurozan leather shines beautifully, like countless tiny diamonds. It is also resistant to friction and is used for martial arts equipment such as kendo chests and armor, and is said to have been used for general-class armor during the Sengoku period.
This work of art is made possible by combining two techniques: tanning techniques that bring out the charm of natural leather, and rigorous painting techniques that make the most of the beauty of the leather's grain surface.
The grain of Kurozan leather comes in three types: "embossed," "excellent Kurozan (hand kneaded)," and "KIWAMI." The leather used in this product is "embossed," with fine grain, which we believe is ideal for watch straps. Even this "embossed" leather costs several times more in material than regular cowhide.

It goes perfectly with dress watches, and if you have a Japanese watch, you should coordinate it with a strap made from "THE Japanese leather." If you're looking for a unique strap, this is the perfect opportunity to try it out.
*For mounting widths of 18 and 19 mm, two buckle widths are available: 16 mm and 15 mm. Please specify the buckle width when ordering.
*Leather color and texture may vary slightly depending on the lot.
*Although we use leather on which the lacquer has completely dried and hardened, in rare cases, an allergic reaction may occur depending on your constitution or physical condition. If this occurs, stop using the strap and consult a medical specialist.

HIMEJI KUROZAN Japanese Cowhide LEATHER STRAP
HIMEJI KUROZAN Japanese Cowhide LEATHER STRAP
Thank you!
I originally bought it to attach to a 69 Seiko 45GS, but it was thinner and more delicate than I expected, so I attached it to a 90s IWC Portofino 34mm. It matches the delicate and round Portofino perfectly and I love it. It has a different shine than crocodile, which is nice. I'm looking forward to seeing how it ages.
Thank you very much for your comment. I think this is a truly unique leather with fine grains that shine exquisitely when exposed to light. Please enjoy it with your watch.
best strap for vintage watch
Thank you so much! Please enjoy the strap with your vintage watch!
I came across this watch when I wanted to pair my Reverso with black leather, but I didn't like the overly obvious look of alligator leather, but I also didn't want to wear it casually.
The grain is not too formal, yet the luster of the lacquer gives it just the right balance.
If I were to be greedy, I would say that if it were a little thicker it would look more luxurious.
The option to add quick release spring bars is also a plus.
It was easy to install even though I'm not used to it.
The very popular KUROZAN strap is suitable for a wide range of watches, from classic to sporty. We hope you will enjoy wearing it with a variety of watches.
